MISSION-MOLDING INVIDUALS IN THE IMAGE OF CHRIST

The first part of the IBNE Mission Statement is that “each believer grows in the knowledge and wisdom of the Word of God in order to be molded into the image of Christ.” The following is a description of the biblical process in which we fulfill this mission.

Back to Top Victory with Praise : The praise and worship of our Lord is the foundation of all of the activities at IBNE. Being a part of this ministry is a huge responsibility because it is by the praising and worshipping of His glorious name that battles are won. People come to our church every week seeking guidance with their lives, and God does great works healing broken hearts and changing sinful lifestyles. Results are happening and the Lord is worthy to be praised.

If you can play an instrument, sing, dance, create power point presentations, you would be an asset to this ministry. For further information about serving in the Praise and Worship Ministry, please contact Patricia Gutierrez or Rev. Jim Mehl at 287-3070.

Back to Top Spiritual Growth through Bible Study : The teaching of the Word of God is part of the Great Commission that the Lord Jesus Christ left for us to do in order to train others in the pure biblical doctrine and wisdom of the Lord. At IBNE, we have established several classes in order to train the disciple in the Word of God.

Back to Top Discipleship 1 : The first step is receiving the teaching on basic Bible doctrine which is offered through a one-on-one study called Discipleship 1. This is a 16-lesson course taught by individual disciplers on a one-on-one basis which will establish the believer in the Word of God, in the local church, in the fellowship of other believers, in the ministry, and in a lifestyle of evangelism.

Back to Top How to Study the Bible : When a believer has completed Discipleship 1 by being established in the five areas listed above, they would be invited to attend the “How to Study the Bible” class. This is a six-month course taught in a classroom setting that teaches the believer how to use the Bible correctly by rightly dividing the Word (2 Timothy 2:15). This class is very important for every believer because it teaches him how to use his sword to defend his faith and to prevent being deceived by false doctrine.

Back to Top Philosophy of Discipleship : After completing Discipleship 1, the believer will be invited to receive training in the “Philosophy of Discipleship” class. In this six-week course, the believer is taught the basic philosophy behind the discipleship ministry which will give him a clearer understanding of God's plan to “…multiply and replenish the earth.”

Back to Top How to Teach Discipleship : All believers are commanded to “go and teach all nations” (Matthew 28:19-20). The “How to Teach Discipleship” course will give the believer the confidence and wisdom that is needed to be a Discipleship 1 teacher. This course is an intense six-month course that instructs the future discipler how to use the 16 lessons in Discipleship 1 as a tool to aid in the spiritual growth of a younger believer. Counseling skills are taught as well as real-life examples of how to put the basic Bible principles into practice in our everyday lives. The completion and graduation from Discipleship 1 is a prerequisite for this training class.

Back to Top Seminary Courses : “Qué Dice la Biblia” is a four-year seminary course by video that is offered to serious Bible students who want to further their knowledge in the Word of God and in the ministry. This course is offered to both men and women who have completed all of the previous training courses. Upon graduating from this seminary, the believer will be qualified to be sent out by their local church as a missionary taking the gospel to “the uttermost parts of the world.”

Back to Top Young Adults Ministry : “24/7” is a weekly ministry for young adults ages 15 to 24. Our Young Adult Pastor Leo Lazo leads the ministry. This ministry is designed to equip our youth to be molded into the image of Christ through the Word, prayer and the local church. 24/7 offers alternative recreational and inexpensive activities for youth along with safe and Biblical fellowship.

Back to Top Men's and Women's Bible Studies : Each month the adult men and women meet to encourage one another in the Word of God and in their own walk with the Lord. It is a time of biblical fellowship in the Word and Prayer and a time to develope friendships with the body of Christ.

Back to Top MOBILIZING INDIVIDUALS TO MINISTER

The second part of IBNE's mission statement says to “mobilize individuals to minister the Word of God in our community, our city, our country, and around the world.” (Acts 1:8 ) Bible knowledge alone is not the answer to spiritual growth. We must apply what we have learned by ministering to others. Going and teaching the Word of God is the responsibility of each disciple and at IBNE, there are many avenues a disciple can venture down in order to fulfill this mission.

Back to Top Children's Ministry : The Bible speaks about the importance of teaching the future generation the Word of the Lord and how to follow in the steps of Jesus. IBNE offers Sunday school classes for children from ages 4-8 and 9-14. These classes focus on the children's knowledge of Bible stories in the Old and New Testament, living the principles they are learning, memorizing scripture and learning to serve others as a way of life. Children growing up in the knowledge of our Lord and in service to Him are what will produce a future generation of faithful and obedient Bible-believing Christians.

This ministry is also a perfect opportunity for a disciple to put his newly-acquired Bible knowledge into action as a way to broaden your experience teaching the Word of God and as a tool to reach out to the families in the community. Along with our weekly Sunday school classes, we have three annual activities each year to reach out to the community. If you are interested in serving the Children's Ministry as a Sunday school teacher, please contact Kathy Mehl at 287-3070.

Back to Top Evangelism Ministry : El Salvador is a unique country as it bears the name of the position of our Lord Jesus Christ as Saviour of the world. Salvadorans respect the Lord and His Word. For this reason, the preaching of the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ is changed by the preaching of His Word. IBNE offers to all of its members the opportunity to be trained in how to evangelize and to be a part of gospel campaigns throughout the year. This includes working with visiting teams from others parts of the world, training them in evangelism, and then partaking in evangelism campaigns out in the streets of San Salvador, the country towns of El Salvador as well as our neighboring countries Honduras, Guatemala, and Nicaragua. We work with local churches and their pastors sharing the gospel, winning souls, and then reproducing ourselves in them. If you would like more information about the Evangelism Ministry or bringing a team to El Salvador for evangelism training and campaigns, please contact Rev. Jim Mehl at 287-3070.

Back to Top Discipleship Reproduction : Reproducing ourselves in others is the goal of mobilizing our church members to be involved in ministry. Evangelism and Discipleship work hand-in-hand to fulfill this goal by reproducing grounded and faithful disciples of the Lord who want to serve Him. Through our evangelism efforts, God has put other faithful pastors in our path who are seeking help with their spiritual growth and the growth of their church members. In order to fulfill this need, our Discipleship teachers have put together a training seminar for those pastors who want to bring the Discipleship 1 ministry into their church. If you would like more information regarding this training, please contact Ernesto Quijano at 287-3070.

Back to Top Disaster Relief : Part of living in a third-world tropical country is living through natural disasters such as flooding from torrential rains, hurricanes, and earthquakes. In order to minister to the physical and spiritual needs of the Salvadorans and give them hope through times of trouble, IBNE has been trained and approved by the government of El Salvador to work with the National Disaster Relief Program as need arises. Our main focus is setting up food kitchens in the refugee camps and preaching the gospel and teaching Bible stories to the children in order to share the hope of the gospel to those in desperate need. Contact Rev. Jim Mehl if you are interested in donating to this ministry at 287-3070.

Back to TopCALEB 180° Caleb 180° is a group named as the Biblical character that was known to show courage in the service of God in every single stage of his life. It is a class in which young professionals (24 and older) have the opportunity to listen and share Biblical principals, pray for each other, and have fellowship among people who share a similar stage of life in which most of them are already professionals or have a job. It is definitely a time to have constructive and edifying fellowship.
